The purpose, founding principles, and governance structure of the Eurasian Accreditation Committee.
To provide independent, competent, and impartial accreditation of management system certification bodies operating in the Eurasian region, in accordance with internationally recognised standards and criteria.
The Eurasian Accreditation Committee was established to address the need for a regional accreditation body that operates transparently and in full conformance with ISO/IEC 17011:2017. By accrediting certification bodies against ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015, the Committee contributes to the reliability and consistency of management system certifications issued across the region.
The Committee's governance structure is designed to ensure independence of accreditation decisions from all commercial and operational activities, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011:2017.
Independence of decisions. Accreditation decisions are made by the Accreditation Panel, which operates separately from the assessment team and from any parties with commercial interest in the outcome. This separation is a core requirement of ISO/IEC 17011:2017, clause 5.2.
