What the Committee accredits, which management system schemes are covered, and what falls outside our scope.

One standard,
one scope

The Eurasian Accreditation Committee accredits certification bodies that audit and certify management systems. The Committee's accreditation scope is limited to a single standard: ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015.

This focused scope allows the Committee to maintain deep competence in management system certification assessment and to apply consistent criteria across all accreditation activities.

  • Applies to all management system certification schemes
  • Covers both stage 1 and stage 2 certification audits
  • Addresses competence, impartiality, and consistency of CBs
  • Supplemented by IAF Mandatory Documents where applicable
Outside the Committee's scope
  • Laboratory accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025)
  • Inspection body accreditation (ISO/IEC 17020)
  • Product certification body accreditation (ISO/IEC 17065)
  • Person certification body accreditation (ISO/IEC 17024)

The Committee accredits certification bodies for any management system scheme that falls under ISO/IEC 17021-1. The schemes below represent the most common scopes requested by applicants.

Environmental Management Systems
Certification bodies auditing organisations against ISO 14001:2015, covering environmental performance and compliance obligations.

Outside our scope

What we do
not accredit

The Committee's mandate is limited to the accreditation of management system certification bodies under ISO/IEC 17021-1. Other types of conformity assessment bodies fall outside this scope and are not accredited by the Committee.

If your organisation requires accreditation for a different type of conformity assessment activity, you should contact a national or regional accreditation body with the relevant scope.
